A Note on Size Measurements:
Our product naming is based off of the product name from the manufacturer.
Measuring SS Wire rope with a micrometer is tricky at best because:
The surface is not uniform. Wire rope is a braid with a surface shape that resembles a spiral. Micrometer calipers are flat and narrow. Not a happy marriage.
Wire Rope is compressible. You might think "Hey.. this is steel.. what do you mean it compresses ?" It is a braid, so there is a small amount of slack in each twist which allows for compression, so getting an accurate measurement is tricky.
Steel expands/contracts with temperature.
This is GOOD wire rope from a premier manufacturer. We are proud to sell it. That said, we cannot accept returns because of issues of size / fit / color.

    Mesh replacement?

Posted by Jerry Beyer on 13th Feb 2015

Well, my first try at wire rope went pretty well. This still needs to be primed (apply juice, burn off; repeat 2-3 times), then I wrapped a bit of organic cotton where the coil would go (I went down to the bottom of the deck with cotton, then wrapped the coil). Wicks much better than mesh, especially with high VG juice. Just waiting on life now, or I would have given it 5 stars!
This size fits the DID perfectly; If you sleeve with Ecowool, you might need to go one size thinner.

    Very Surprised

Posted by Steven themins on 3rd Dec 2013

I was very surprised with how well this works! It was suggested to me by Chris of KP and I gotta say I am loving it, I haven't gone back to any of my old set-ups at all. You will need to sleeve your rope in something, whether it be silica or ceramic, ekowool, or cotton; I've found the cotton (plain cotton ball) to be really great and inexpensive and have tried the XC ceramic and cotton ball.

If you haven't tried rope yet and are thinking about it it would be a good idea to do so!

Although it fit nicely in my AGA T2, I might want to bring it down a size(5/64) if I buy some more.

    Great for RSST!

Posted by Chris on 31st Oct 2013

Works perfectly in the RSST. I covered it with 500 mesh, or XS-18... and it works great both ways. No need to tip at all. Best wick I have ever used. Just a note, it is not a snug fit in the RSST. It fits just right, and will give you a little room to move it around. They last forever, and flavor changes are super easy. Just rinse under hot water, dry with a towel, dry burn on your coils, and its good to go again.
